There are many valid reasons to start looking for alternative fuels for your car. Brown’s gas extracted from water enriches the fuel mixture, allowing you to pump less fuel into the engine but get the same if not greater amount of burn, thus improving your vehicle’s gas mileage.

The HAFC system also uses powerful magnets to ionize the gasoline to break it down to its component molecules, allowing it to burn more rapidly and cleanly. It is a common mistake that gas burns. Gas does not burn, and what burns is the vapor that is on the surface of the gas. In unmodified engines, the fuel injector turns the gas into a fine mist. If this fine mist were to be turned actually into gas, and the components broken down to make it burn more, you will get a more explosive mixture, meaning more power, and less emissions, using less fuel. That is why cars that run on Liquefied Petroleum Gas are more economical, the fuel the reaches the engine is in gas form, easily burned and gives off less smoke.

Many studies have been made and claim that the HAFC system can produce gas savings of a minimum of 50%. This is a dramatic increase in mileage and fuel economy; though of course one can expect the savings to vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on the engine condition and the road usage the vehicle is subjected to.

What makes the HAFC System unique and special is that it will work on all current existing internal combustion engines. Unlike conversions to LPG fuel, there will be no need for major modifications, only added components that will not even add burden to the car. It is also compatible with other emerging technologies such as Pre-Ignition Catalytic Converter technology, which should up the fuel savings even more.

Basically, a fuel cell converts the chemicals hydrogen and oxygen into water and in the process it produces electricity. It is similar to another electrochemical device with which we are very familiar with – the battery. A battery has all of it’s chemicals stored inside and it converts those chemicals into electricity, the battery eventually goes dead and it is necessary to either re-charge it or after awhile it is defunct and needs to be thrown out. With a fuel cell, the chemicals constantly flow into the cell so it never goes dead. The fuel cell creates a direct current voltage that can be used to power motors and electrical appliances. If the fuel source is not pure hydrogen, then the appliance in which the fuel cell is contained will require a reformer. A reformer transforms hydrocarbon into hydrogen, however they also produce heat and other gases, some of which are harmful to the environment. In addition, the necessity of a reformer will decrease efficiency, with the result that researchers are concentrating on pure hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, despite challenges associated with hydrogen production and storage. The hydrogen fuel cell is the way of the future but there are still a few hurdles which need to be negotiated. Firstly, the fuel cell is expensive mainly due to the current use of platinum for the metal catalysts, researchers need to seek alternatives to cut down costs. Secondly, the proton exchange membranes need to be made more durable than they currently are to withstand higher and indeed lower temperatures. Thirdly, there must be a comprehensive infrastructure implemented which would include pipelines, truck transport, fuelling stations and hydrogen generating plants.

How to Make Your Own Fuel Cell With Materials In Your Own Home

The popularity of fuel cells is increasing because there are a lot of people who are trying to find ways in which to use fuel that simply does not require the use of oil. Believe it or not, you can actually make your own fuel cells in your own home and use them as an alternative source of energy.

These can be a lot more desirable than batteries because they can be used for many different things and they don’t have to be recharged nor do they need to be replaced. Also the byproduct of the fuel cell is hydrogen and not a toxic byproduct like other energy sources. They also will save you money in the long run.

Things you will need to create your own fuel cell:

12 inches of platinum wire
Wire clippers
A nail
A battery clip
Scissors
Battery (needs to be a match for the battery clip)
Tape

The first thing you will do is to take the wire and clip it in half with your wire clippers. You really should try to make sure that the wire is platinum but if you can’t get that kind of wire then copper wire should work.

Next you will need to wrap your wire around a nail. You will need to do this with both sides of the wire that you clipped. This is going to give you two coils of platinum or copper wire. After you have coiled the wire you will need to cut the lead wires of the battery. You will need to measure around ¾ of the way from the battery and then cut the leads there.

Take the battery leads and scrape off the insulation by using your scissors. You need to do this before you pull the insulation off of the leads. You don’t need to cut very deep and you need to be very careful when you are using your scissors when you are doing the cutting.

After the leads are exposed you will need to wrap them around the coiled up wire that you set up earlier. This wire will act as your electrodes. Take your tape, which is best if it is electrical tape and tape the wires that come from the leads to the wire coils. Do this about half the way down the platinum or copper wires.

Now, take your new battery and attach it to your battery clip. Make sure to look for any bubbles in the battery water. This will mean that the molecules are being broken apart and this is what you want. Once you are done with this you can add your fuel cell to any electronic device that you might have. For instance connect a battery powered radio to your leads to see if the cell is working correctly. If the radio works then it means you just created your first fuel cell.

HHO Fuel Cells For Cars, Are They Good or Bad? HHO fuel cell, some facts. Hydrogen gas is made up of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. It has a low ignition temperature so it take s a lot to get it to burn, pretty safe fuel. It is lighter than air, so if it does spill the gas will rise. So unless your in a closed environment the gas will dissipate into the atmosphere. Then again pretty safe. Cost is low as all it takes is distilled water and some electrolysis, once you build or buy your hydrogen generator. The power it takes is less than it take to run your wipers. Life Span of The Fuel Cells. Unfortunately they do not last forever. They can last from as little as 90 days to five or six years. This all depends on how they are constructed, the quality of the materials and the electrolyte used. The best material to used is 316L, L stands for low carbon, stainless steel. The fuel cells manufacture with 316L stainless steel usually last five times longer. Using a PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) will also helps increase the life span by reducing the current flow. The use of distilled water and the right electrolyte is also important. The best electrolyte is Potassium Hydroxide. Will they cause damage to the engine? Lets go over the equipment needed to install an HHO Generator kit into your car, truck, RV, or 18 wheeler. You will need a hho generator, distilled water and some type of electrolyte. Your car battery powers the electrolysis which makes your hydrogen gas. The engine vacuum system draws the gas out of the generator into the engine. An enhanced sensor ensures proper fuel mixture is maintained. As you can see is the only thing we actually added was a hho generator. With all this said here is what hydrogen gas does to your engine. Improves gas mileage up to 60 percent Eliminate harmful exhaust emission into the environment Adds oxygen to the environment Increases your engine power and performance Prevent carbon build up Reduces your engine operating temperature With all stated above, you can see that instead of damaging your engine, you increase performance and power. You rid carbon deposit and add oxygen to the environment and you reduce your engine operating temperature. All this together assures better and longer performance from your vehicle. How much maintenance does it require? Actually maintenance is really easy and not much to it. Every six to eight hundred miles you may have to add about one cup of water to your system. This will vary on each vehicle. Then approximately every six or seven months you should empty, flush and refill your unit. That is about it. What about the cars warranty? According to the law, which is the Moss Magnusson Act, dealers cannot void warranties because of aftermarket parts. If they can prove that any particular aftermarket parts caused engine failure they can void the warranty. Most hydrogen generator kits do not modify the engine in anyway and if they did they have to prove that particular modification did the damage to the engine. So far I have not heard on one incident. As you can see from this information there is more good coming from HHO Generator Kits than not. I have two units and are very happy with them.

And although it sounds a bit like rocket science it is in fact possible for anyone to make a DIY Hydrogen fuel Cell so that they too can run cars on water.

A DIY hydrogen fuel cell is basically a small homemade hydrogen generator that anyone can put together and install in their own cars. With a few inexpensive parts and materials and the help of a simple instruction guide it is possible to make a DIY hydrogen fuel cell for as little as $100.
